Breath, if compared to other languages, is Avautis. AVA and AUTIS come from the words AUTISTIC, autistic or special children, combined to be AVAUTIS, which means giving breath to special children by producing skincare products that are friendly to the skin, focusing on meticulously selecting natural ingredients that are 100% safe for the skin. Be assured that the products pass standards and are safe under the concept of quality products for a quality society.

Special Children Social Enterprise Company Limited is a company that was founded by the Autistic Parents Club in Phang Nga Province. They came together to encourage each other, exchange knowledge on childcare, and develop children so that they have the knowledge, can help themselves, and can continue to work to support themselves even when their parents are no longer around.

In this episode, the admin will take everyone to get to know a company that chooses to solve social problems for a very special group of people. In the past, we often think that special children must always be closely cared for. But we forget to think about what the children will do when their parents are no longer around. Mr. Joe Kampanat Mahan, CEO of Dek Piset Social Enterprise Co., Ltd., will tell us about the starting point that came from his direct experience in helping society by giving families with special children the opportunity to stay together while they can still work and earn an income. And when the day comes that they no longer have parents, you will see that they can still help themselves and have jobs to support themselves.

    Who are these special children?

Special children are children who have brain or physical disabilities. Many people have probably seen abnormal behaviors of special children such as banging their heads against walls or knocking on the floor. You will find that when you try to stop them or touch them, they will immediately scream. This group is called severely special children. However, there are also forms of special children that are less severe and even geniuses.

    “They have pain inside.”

If you have ever had an unbearable headache, whether from stress or an illness, you have sometimes found yourself hitting your head or hitting it lightly in the hopes that the pain will go away or go away for just a split second. This is the answer to the practice of severely disabled children banging their heads against walls or floors. They have internal pain that they do not know how to deal with.

    beginning

At first, Mr. Joe had a child with special needs. Then, a group of parents who also had children with special needs formed, about 5-6 families. The group would consult or ask for advice about taking care of their children. Later, it was thought that all parents were getting older, but their children still had to live on even though the children could not even take care of themselves.

“If we die, what will happen to our children?”

When the question arose, the group of parents began to think that they should teach and train their children to learn and be able to live if the parents were old and died. When they thought about it, these special children could not work in government agencies, state enterprises, private companies, or have their own businesses because they still needed someone to take care of them. Therefore, the idea of opening their own business was born so that the children and parents could work together and take care of the children at the same time. Thus, the AVAUTIS brand was born.

“The beginning of a business that wasn’t so pretty”

The first product of AVAUTIS was dishwashing liquid, which we produced and tried to sell for more than 2 years but did not produce the desired results. So we turned to making curry paste and then rubber pillows, which were not successful at all. AVAUTIS looked hopeful again when we started producing soap and it turned out that it was selling. There was a teacher who was fond of the group of parents who took care of special children in this area. He came to teach us how to make it and found an environment and suitable ingredients to produce serum and skin care cream for sale. When everything seemed more possible, the group of parents invested more money and established Special Children Social Enterprise Co., Ltd.

“We focus on making work fun and enjoyable together.”

There will be everything from extraction processes, cream production, mixing and packaging. The part that the children do is the packaging part. Mr. Joe said that the company never forced the children to do it, but the reason they came to work was because their parents who work with the company came to work. When they came, they saw their parents working every day, which led to learning and imitating their behavior. Then they started doing it themselves. The work will be relaxed, not forced, not rushed, emphasizing fun and letting the family be happy together.เป็นการทำงานแบบสบายๆ ไม่บังคับ ไม่รีบร้อน เน้นสนุกและให้ครอบครัวได้มีความสุขร่วมกัน

For concerns about quality, the company’s concept is quality products for a quality society, so the company’s raw materials are definitely safe. The professors who help with product development have good knowledge of cosmeceutical science and are constantly studying to develop products to meet standards and the highest quality.

We do business to make a profit in order to use the profit to help society. Being a social enterprise does not only mean helping society, but also in terms of business, the company will use 70% of the profit from doing business to help society. In addition, within the company’s area of approximately 500 rai, there are also buildings that are residential and learning places that teach every special child to help themselves and work by themselves.

“On the days when parents are not around, children can survive on their own.”

The business model of Special Children Social Enterprise Co., Ltd. is aware of the social problems that occur in families with special children. Normally, parents take care of them until they are old, and when they die, the children cannot take care of themselves and have to go live in various nursing homes. The company has created a way of life where the children’s parents drive to work and bring their children with them. When the children see how their parents do it every day, they will learn and live the same way their parents do. Even when their parents or guardians are no longer around, they will still be able to take care of themselves, have income, and have a place to stay within the company.

For the next step of AVAUTIS, Joe revealed that the next goal now is to expand the AVAUTIS market to be a product with more users and better known. If the AVAUTIS brand can go further, it will be able to help many people in society. Moreover, if possible, if AVAUTIS grows more, Joe would like to help special needs children throughout the country because currently, the number of special needs children in the country is not small at all.

    Conclusion

Doing something for society is something happy because helping others makes people feel more valuable. Nowadays, there are many people who think like this. When you want to help society, you have the opportunity to meet only good people in good society who think in the same direction as you. You will find a wonderful time at the end of helping society. When you are someone who always helps society, if you are in trouble and need help, society will come back to help you as well.

“Helping the community is fun and brings good stories and good people into your life.”
