    Fried Pork, a new franchise business model from Food Passion Company, designed to help unemployed people or low-income earners who have been affected by COVID.

    Covid is a crisis that no one expected or has ever experienced in dealing with before. The arrival of Covid has created widespread negative impacts, affecting every business, career, and people’s way of life.

    Many people probably still remember the 3-month lockdown in our country. Many businesses had to close down. Many businesses had to quickly change their business models. For example, restaurants, if they didn’t do online or delivery, they wouldn’t survive.

    In addition, the number of competitors entering the food business has increased several times in a short period of time. Hey, where do the competitors come from? They come from the group of people who lost their jobs and entrepreneurs whose main businesses could not survive due to Covid. They have turned to selling food online. Because it is not difficult to start, the number of sellers has increased significantly in the past few months. People in various professions, such as cabin crew, captains, airlines, etc. have risen up to sell food, or even airlines are selling it themselves.

    Although the situation has improved somewhat, overall restaurant sales have not returned to their original levels because government measures have limited the number of customers allowed to dine in. In terms of food delivery, there is also high competition. New restaurants are coming in every day. There are many promotions to choose from, but sales are not as good as expected.

    Or are there more food vendors than buyers? But that may not be the real problem. The real problem is consumers. They now have less purchasing power, so they need to be careful with their spending. At the same time, they are looking for a stable job or additional income to hedge against future risks.

    Alternatives for survival, helping Thai people to have a career and sustainable income.

    Food Passion Company (the owner of Bar BQ Plaza and the familiar Jum Zap Hut ) was also affected quite a bit by the arrival of Covid this time. However, he chose to stand up and do something different from before with the nano-franchise “Moo Tod Kot Kor”.

    What is the “Moo Tod Kot Kor” nano franchise? What is its origin? Who is it suitable for?

    Admin had the opportunity to talk with the executives, namely Ms. Chataya Suphanphong, Chief Executive Officer and Ms. Siripa Laphanawin, Executive Vice President of Corporate Business Development, Food Passion Company.

    Ms. Chataya said, “Our business is suffering. Our employees are suffering. Our workers are suffering. Everyone is being disrupted by COVID-19 in their business, careers, and lives.”

    With the unfavorable situation, many employees have had their salaries cut, many have been laid off, everyone is worried about the uncertainty that has occurred, making every expense, spending must be careful, saving and worthwhile, it is necessary to live a simple life.

    On the other hand, working people also want to earn income during this time to make up for lost income or as a source of emergency reserve funds because no one knows when the COVID situation will end.

    Admin thinks that this is a real fact that is happening in our country. We cannot just sit and wait for the government to come and help because the government itself probably has many responsibilities that need to be managed quickly. Fortunately, there are entrepreneurs like Food Passion Company who have risen up to create a business model that can help small workers who are suffering from COVID to be able to make it a sustainable career.

    The origin of “Moo Tod Kot Kor” occurred in our Passion Lab.

    Ms. Siripa said that “Moo Tod Kot Kor” is an idea that came from our internal team. It is a business model that was created to help working people to have a career and sustainable income, meaning that they can make a good profit and never stop doing it.

    Ms. Chataya added, “This project is not for CSR, but we want to create a career by delivering happiness through meals at affordable prices to consumers.”

    We use our strengths because Food Passion has been an expert in the food business for over 33 years, has marketing experience, an efficient transportation system, and knowledge in franchising abroad. In addition, Food Passion

    We have a team ready to support and we also have like-minded partners who want to help working people who are suffering from COVID this time. In the first phase, 6 companies include PTT Energy Public Company Limited (PT gas stations), Ek-Chai Distribution System Company Limited (Tesco Lotus Express), Kasikornbank Public Company Limited, Krungsri Consumer, Krungthai Card Public Company Limited (KTC), and Chujai Ka Kalyanamitra Company Limited (Creative Agency).

    “Nano Franchise” is a business model for small people who want to have their own business.

    Ms. Siripa said that we want to help working people who are in trouble to have income and we want to help working people who have had their salaries cut to have the opportunity to access easy-to-eat, delicious, worthwhile meals at affordable prices.

    “Easy to make, easy to eat, easy to sell, quick return on investment, with a team to advise you at every step.”

    This is the origin of “ Nano Franchise ” which comes from the idea that it must be a business model that can help Thai people overcome this crisis by having real income, being sustainable through selling products that are easy to make, easy to sell, and must be a business that is “a franchise that does not need to be purchased”.

    What makes the “Moo Tod Kot Kor” franchise different from other franchises in the market is that

    • There is no franchise fee.
    • There are no royalties or percentage deductions from monthly sales (Royalty Fee).
    • There is no marketing fee (Marketing Fee/Advertising Fee) and
    • No training fee

    It is considered to meet the needs of Thai people for fast food that is easy to eat (Ready to Eat) and is worthwhile to buy at a comfortable price (Value for Money).

    The goal of the “Moo Tod Kot Kor” franchise is to have many branches and make a lot of profit, right?

    Admin has learned that after the opening of applications for the “Moo Tod Kot Kor” franchise, there were a lot of people who came to apply. However, Food Passion only selects those who are determined, sincere, and serious. They are only taking 100 applicants this year.

    “The important goal is that the people who work with us must survive. They must be able to make a living and have an income to support their families.”
