Problems with writing English for use at work? Don’t know where to start?

Problems with writing English are a big problem for engineering graduates, and I believe that other career paths may have similar problems.

And there are many young people from various professions who have asked me how we can solve the problem of writing English to get fast results because it is necessary to use it quickly. And if we go to study English writing, it may take too long, definitely not in time for the needs of use. And if we cannot survive in this matter, the consequences may affect our work.

For this matter, I also had this problem before. Let’s see my story and how I solved the problem of writing English for communication at work. How did I do it?

I still remember that when I first started working at my first company, my English was really bad (like most people who have problems using English).

But I was lucky to work in an environment with many foreigners, so I had to try to practice English communication skills because it was necessary. If I didn’t use it or didn’t use it well, I might lose my job. (At that time, I tried to look on the bright side, but in reality, I was under a lot of pressure because I had to use English quite a lot.)

The difficulty, or rather the headache, for me at that time was the problem of writing English.

Because at that time, my job position required a lot of English writing, especially for correspondence written in English.

Because I have to communicate and coordinate both internally, with the company’s departments abroad, and with foreign customers, etc. I’m also confused about my boss. Why did he let someone with weak language skills like me be responsible for this kind of work? (laughs)

Let’s imagine that someone with a poor English base, who speaks with a stammer, what will it be like to write English?

“Speaking English is bad enough, but writing is a disaster.”

Wrong writing changes lives. Because of the pressure to do it, I had to write in a shaky way, as much as I knew. The consequences were, of course, I got criticized by the foreign team and by the customers, saying that I couldn’t understand what I was reading (when I first started working, we used fax to send and communicate. Email was just starting to be used, so don’t even dream of having Google as an assistant. LOL)

“I was very embarrassed that I couldn’t communicate with him. But I didn’t give up. I still wanted to fight. I had to look for a way out.” And finally, I found a great helper.

These helpers are right here in my office… They are old sample letters used in business correspondence, whether internally or externally, with customers or business partners, etc.

Such as a request for price, a quotation, a visit, an order, a price inquiry, a letter asking for advice, a request for assistance, a meeting, an appointment, or an explanation of a technical problem, a delay, or others.

I started by using what I had and creating a template in my own format.

Adjust it a little bit and use it. The result is that foreign customers understand what we want to communicate. The writing changes completely.

My working life has changed. I don’t have to worry about writing English like I used to (but later I went to study more because I wanted to write more complexly. It was necessary to go study).

When I moved to a new job, I left behind a legacy of English letter templates for my colleagues to use. And everywhere I work, I continue to create new templates.

Because I know that Thai people, if you let them go learn to write English to use in their work immediately, it will not be fast enough. It will definitely take several years. So, it is better to use the English letter template that I have for them. It is faster and they will be able to develop it further on their own more easily (because Thai people are good at adapting and modifying).

The result: “As good as ever, saved a lot of time.”

Problems with writing English are gone because of the help.

My teammates don’t have to be pressured or waste too much time drafting English letters. They can use the template right away, and it can be used in almost every situation. Today, I left my old job many years ago, but they still use my template.

That means it’s really useful and effective.

For English writing, I must conclude that templates really change the lives of working people like us. We can start by trying to find templates from good examples in our workplace or find a book of examples of English letter writing.

    Additional recommendations

Problems with English writing? Don’t just copy the template. I want us to gradually understand strange words and sentence structures at the same time. Later, we will be able to adapt and apply the template we have to suit our own work more easily and quickly.

For many of you who have asked me, when we don’t know a word, is there a website to find a translation that can be used on both mobile phones and computers? Something that is easy to understand and not complicated.

Admin uses this website https://dict.longdo.com/ This website is easy to understand. We can also press the button to listen to the pronunciation of the words. How is it pronounced correctly?

Finally, I want us to see that English is actually not as difficult as we think. It’s just that we may not have a better way or no one can advise us.

So if you want to eliminate the problem of writing English and want to write English better, you should try this method. It is another way to develop your writing to progress faster.
